Not In His Back YardCouncillor Ian Grayson raised a very serious matter at the Council meeting of the 12th of November.
Councillor Ian Grayson said,
"Councillor Michael McIntyre abused his position as a member of North Tyneside’s planning committee"
"In January 2002 Councillor Michael McIntyre signed a petition opposing a planning application for a communication mast on Churchill playing fields which is near his home. The petition opposed the siting of the mast there on health grounds.
Councillor Michael McIntyre clearly does not want his family to be potentially at risk but is prepared to support it in someone else’s back yard.
Councillor Grayson added,
"This is a blatant abuse of his position he even said in the planning committee of 17th October 2002 that Hillheads was the best location for this mast."
"I am so appalled by Councillor Michael McIntyre's behaviour that I going to write to the Standards Committee and ask them to investigate fully this improper behaviour by Councillor Michael McIntyre".
