Children's play areas developments

One theme running through many of your responses was the need to provide more play areas for children in the Ward. At the moment we have very few, Marmion Terrace and Earsdon Grange are the only two of note. Otherwise children have to go to Churchill Playing Fields. It isn’t good enough. We need more, obviously in places where nuisance to neighbours will not be caused.

Miller Homes, as part of a planning permission, paid £15,394 to the Council last October for a play area on Langley Playing Fields. A good play area will cost more than that, and so funds will have to come from other sources as well, but that money is no good to children sitting in a bank account. I am pressing for an early decision to provide the play area. Let’s get on with it.
